Viola Repairs With Booths

Regular viola repairs and maintenance help prevent long-term damage and keep the instrument performing at its best, whether for a beginner or an advanced player. Our viola repairs take into account the instrument’s larger size and deeper tonal characteristics. Because violas vary more in dimensions than violins, precise adjustment is especially important. Within our string instrument repairs service, we carry out soundpost positioning, bridge optimisation, string height adjustments and general structural repairs to enhance tone depth and ease of playing.

Bow Rehairs

As part of our viola repairs service, we also offer professional bow rehairing for this instrument as well as the violin and cello. A worn or uneven bow hair can significantly affect tone production, control and responsiveness, making playing more difficult than it needs to be.

We now advise bow rehairing primarily for higher-quality bows, using only the finest horsehair and proven professional techniques. Each rehair is carried out with care and precision, ensuring even tension, correct alignment and reliable performance across the full length of the bow.

A freshly rehaired bow improves grip on the string, enhances articulation and allows the player to draw a clearer, more controlled sound from their instrument.
